I liked each of the characters individually, but I never bought the relationship. The violence was way too heavy for my tastes with very descriptive gory scenes. The sexual abuse of Miki, when he was a child, was constantly in the front of my mind making it hard to enjoy the romance angle. I hope the next one is a lighter read.
